Welcome to AsPIRE

Project AsPIRE (Asian American Partnership in Research and Empowerment) is a multi-year community-based participatory research program funded through the National Institutes of Health National Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities (NCMHD).

The NCMHD program consists of three phases:  1) planning phase for 3 years; 2) intervention phase for 5 years; and 3) dissemination phases for 3 years.  Throughout this period, academic and community partners work together on all aspects of the program planning, development, evaluation, and dissemination.

The goal of Project AsPIRE is to develop, test, and evaluate a community health worker model designed to reduce cardiovascular disease and hypertension disparities among Filipino Americans living in New York and New Jersey.
